Whipped and Baked Tea Shop on the Corner of Guildhall Street, Chichester
This morning I met up with my good friend Sonia (of Androulas Kitchen www.androulaskitchen.wordpress.com) for a nice piece of cake and a catch up. We are always keen to try somewhere new and it was our good fortune that another friend of Sonia had visited this place recently and had come back with glowing reports. Set in one of the quainter streets in the historic part of Chichester, at the Northgate end of North Street, this delightful little emporium is quite anonymous from the outside. Do not let this fool you! Inside it is small, but beautifully formed and run by a husband and wife team going under the tags of The Jolly Curmudgeon and FlourvonSponge.

The ethos of this totally fabulouso tattoo themed eatery is one of community and people before profit and operate their own “Suspended Coffee” scheme as well as raising funds for local homeless charity Stonepillow.
comfy sofas and quirky tattoo themed artwork
The cafe has a lovely relaxed ambience and trust me (I am a cake connoisseur) their cakes are heavenly. When Whipped and Baked say on their website that they are “ Pedlars of Baked Decadence who are keepers of your edible guilty pleasures. Mere mortals who are fairygodmothers of sugar-dusted frivolities. With an alchemy of egg, butter, sugar magic and the desire to engineer candy-coated giddiness, WHIPPED & BAKED is here to put froufrou back into handcrafted cakes.” This is no word of a lie. Whipped and Baked is set to become my first stop in the future for all things tea and cake!
